Our neighbourhood

Aparthotel Silver is located in Gràcia, a lovely, vibrant and unique neighbourhood. Its central but away-from-the-busy-centre position makes it ideal. It’s really well-connected to the old town by either metro (FONTANA station) or bus. It is one of the hippest places, renowned for its cultural scene, and a popular going out area for food and drinks.  Shopping is also a pleasure with plenty of little cute shops, with both traditional handcrafts and arty products, most of them manufactured on site. Gran de Gràcia is one of the shopping axles of the city. There are plenty of restaurants with all sorts of cuisines to choose from and suitable for all budgets. In spite of being a trendy place for young people it hosts a large population of both elderly and local families. Therefore, it is a safe area as well as quiet, once away from the main squares.

The layout of the neighbourhood is a maze of fairly narrow streets and singular and lively squares that makes for pleasant walks. It is on Gaudí’s route with Parc Güell and Casa Vicens – the first work by this genius and really close to Aparthotel Silver- and there are some important modernist buildings like Casa Fuster and other minor ones. Another special feature of Gràcia is that its residents are very active in social matters and they organise themselves into neighbourhood associations that hold activities all year around both in private and in the streets: concerts, flea markets, social actions or festivals among others. Gràcia is best-known for la Festa Major, the main festivity, held in August with neighbours competing in street decoration and lots of outdoor activities and live music.

If you are looking for something a bit different, away from the main tourist track but also close to the city centre, Gràcia and Aparthotel Silver is your neighbourhood!
